As a private tour guide, Judy has developed a strong presence in the niche market of tailored, personal tours. Having travelled widely herself, she understands how special a long-planned holiday is and how important it is to go home with special memories and spectacular photographs (all of the photos on this website were taken by Judy herself).

Making a booking

To ensure that Judy can arrange the best tours, bookings should be made well in advance. Please contact her in good time to discuss your dates, preferences and budget. All bookings will be confirmed in writing.

Depending on the number of people in your group, Judy will use her own air-conditioned vehicle, or arrange a larger vehicle (at additional expense). All vehicles are fully registered, licensed and insured.

 

Accommodation and meals

For overland trips, Judy will select bed and breakfast or guest house accommodation to suit your budget and route.

Accommodation costs will be advised at the time of booking. While accommodation usually includes breakfast, Judy can also recommend and book specific restaurants for your meals (these meals will be for your own account).

What to bring

For your tour, Judy suggests you bring:

• Your camera, including spare batteries and charger
• Drinking water
• Sun hat and sunscreen
• Walking shoes and swim/sports clothes, as required
• Smart-casual clothes for the evenings
• A light jacket in summer, or warmer clothes in the winter season

Postcards and stamps can be bought en route.

 

Tariff and payment

Because Judy plans individual tours, the tariff depends on routes, distance and time. Your quote will detail the cost of the tour, including accommodation. Entry charges and meals not included in the quote will be for your own account each day. This allows flexibility during your tour.

Fifty per cent of the full amount is payable on confirmation of your reservation, with the balance due on commencement of the tour. Judy will provide bank account details for direct payments.

 

Pick-up and return transfers

When booking your tour, please advise Judy of your transport needs. She usually collects and returns her clients from their accommodation at an agreed time on the day of the tour.

As needed, Judy can arrange collection or return to Cape Town International Airport.

All vehicles are fully registered, licensed and insured. However, guests and their belongings are carried entirely at their own risk. Judy shall not be responsible for and shall be exempt from all liability in respect of any injury, loss, damage or inconvenience whatsoever during the tour.
